The FROG Tutor was one of only three IC powered models still available from the company in 1960.

Designed for 0.8-1.0cc diesels (specifically the FROG 100 MKII and FROG '80'), the model was seen at the time as unnecessarily complicated to build but with a very strong airframe and great flier. Our replica kit has a few modifications to the original stamped wood for ease of build, but in most respects is a faithful copy. The kit does not include a motor or motor ancillaries.

The Tutor is an obvious candidate for conversion to electric RC.

This kit is a laser-cut replica of the original FROG Tutor. Construction of the model from this kit uses the traditional method of "stick and tissue", that consists of a built up balsa wood skeleton (framework), covered with a tissue skin. The balsa frameworks are built over a plan that is printed at the exact scale of the model, which is in essence a real engineering drawing.

This type of traditional building technique and flying requires a degree of patience and skill, but is extremely rewarding.

7 sheets of balsa wood and ply with precise laser cut parts.
Strip wood, engine bearers, leading and trailing edge
Pair of 1 1/2" plastic streamlined wheels.
Acetate sheet for cabin.
Piano wire for the main undercarriage and tail wheel.
Tissue to cover the model.
Nuts, bolts and washers
Full size printed plan (no instructions available at the moment!).

Model pictured built by Jonathan Rowley includes motor, paint & decals not included in the kit
