The Tamiya Land Rover Defender 90 is a scale model Tamiya have waited seemingly decades to produce (licensing is a costly and time consuming process).
Based on the CC-01 bathtub chassis used by many of the Tamiya 4WD models, this is a very simple kit to put together.
There's a whole host of hop ups and accessories in the pipeline, allowing you to make a very unique model.

Based on one of Land Rover's basic early D90 models, this kit represents a great, easy to build project, ideal for younger enthusiasts.
Although fitted with permanent, shaft-driven 4WD, be under no illusions that this is a full blown rock crawler - you would have to spend almost twice the cost of this kit to get true rock-crawling abilities! That said, the Landy will cover rough terrain, grass, sand and gravel with loads of stability and the 540T brushed motor with low gearing has plenty grunt.
The level of detail on the polycabonate shell is super accurate and detailed, which is exactly what you'd expect of a licensed product from Tamiya and there is alway the option of fitting an LED lighting kit for head and tail lights.
The kit includes an ESC but you will need a transmitter and receiver set along with a suitable battery.
The Tamiya Land Rover Defender 90 makes the ideal gift for the Landy enthusiast who doesn't want to spend days building a model before hitting the trail.
