COMES WITH ELECTRONICS AND HARDWARE
Complete kit including electronics, covering material, wood parts and flight hardware (just add your own radio and battery)
24” (609mm) wingspan - big enough to withstand light winds when flown outdoors, yet small enough to store and transport easily.
3-channel radio control - with just power, rudder and elevator to control, even an RC novice can fly successfully.
Accurate laser-cut parts - designed in CAD to go together perfectly, building the kit is a joy.
Fully illustrated step-by-step instructions and full-scale plans - even if you have never built a model aircraft before, you should be able to build this one.
Iron-on covering with cutting templates - no messing around with tissue and smelly dopes as Oralight makes covering a doddle. We’ve even included paper templates for you to cut around!

HISTORY OF THE ROYAL AIRCRAFT FACTORY SE5A C1149/W
Introduced towards the end of WWI, the agile yet stable Royal Aircraft Factory SE5a, helped the Royal Flying Corps to gain air superiority over the German Luftstreitkräfte.
This kit is an authentic representation of the SE5a (C1149/W) flown by Duncan Grinnell-Milne, Commanding Officer of No.56 Squadron RFC from 1917. It featured a one-off colour scheme and carried the name "Shweinhund" - a reference to how German guards would address him and fellow POWs when he was captured in 1915.
The first release in our “Legends of Flight” range of RC models, the SE5a makes the perfect introduction to true “aero-modelling” if you demand more than just foam “ready to fly” models.
*Box is now shipped unpainted for your own creative customisation and repurposing.
