Mr Platt's Halo
Monday, 29 December 2014  |

Classic free flight PAA load contest design from the "50s" by Dave Platt. In free flight mode power would come from a 1cc glow or diesel engine. However, I decided to take advantage of present day micro RC and electric power. Mine is powered by a Micro-sized brushless out-runner electric motor, controlled by an 18amp HiModel ESC. Radio control is via a Spektrum AR6110e 2.4GHz 6 channel receiver weighing just 4.3 grams. Power comes from a 200mAh 7.4v Lithium-polymer battery. This model was built from beautiful kit supplied by The Vintage Model Company.
