CLOUD TRAMP

Based on an original plan by Charles H. Grant and published in the Model Airplane News in August 1954, our version of the Cloud Tramp is a laser-cut kit that includes all the parts you need to build one of these superb fliers.

Ideal as beginners model, the Cloud Tramp has become a bit of a phenomenon in the aero-modelling community.

Every year, on an agreed date and time, all over the world, hundreds of Cloud Tramps take to the air as part of the ‘Grant MIMLOCT Mass Launch’.

With a 22" wingspan and relatively simple construction, there is plenty of scope for modification, customisation and decoration.

Our VMC Cloud Tramp kit features a few modifications to make your build more straightforward, however we also include the original plan so that you can more closely follow Charles Grant's vision.

This is a beautifully made kit which despite its apparent simplicity, is engaging to make. I would strongly recommend as a post christmas project. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to fly yet,

Response:

Thanks Peter
They fly very well indeed - in fact there's one stuck on our roof!
