Everything You Need to Build an R/C Hurricane
This is the full beginner kit that includes a laser cut airframe kit, motor, speed controller, servos, a transmitter and receiver set, battery, charger and covering material. If you've ever wanted to build your own radio control Hurricane, this is the kit for you.
Please note: due to shipping restrictions, orders to the US will not include a battery.
A Simple RC Hurricane Kit
The Balsa Basics Hurricane is the perfect first balsa warbird. It is a rugged, simple aircraft that is friendly to fly. With a greater wing area than the Balsa Basics Spitfire and BF-109, the Hurricane really floats along and enjoys calm days for cruising around at scale speeds and performing realistic aerobatics.
Easy to Build
Designed for absolute beginners when it comes to the building of this model, precision laser cut parts fit together seamlessly to build up the large wing with a clever three-part double spar that slots around each rib; this means the wing can be assembled in just 10 minutes. The fuselage is built as a box with strong, interlocking ply formers. Everything goes together in an intuitive and straightforward way.
Please Note: this is an airframe kit and will need your own electronics, radio gear, battery, 55mm spinner and covering material (scroll down for all the things you will need)
More Detailed than You Might Think
Although clearly meant to be a very simple, fun-scale model of the Hurricane, this aircraft does come with exhaust stacks and a vacuum-formed plastic canopy. The aircraft can be covered and finished in a variety of ways to bring it to life. This kit is really a blank canvas for you to use to build the warbird you want to fly.
Traditional Design with a New Twist
Simple beginner-friendly balsa construction techniques in a simple but elegant airframe that slots together with ease. Numbered laser cut parts remove the guesswork. Unlike many of our other more complicated kits, the Balsa Basics Hurricane doesn't need to be built over a plan and can be constructed on a standard-sized kitchen table with some basic tools.
Easy Battery Access
There's plenty of room in here for 3s LiPo batteries up to a 2200 (which is the recommended size for this model).
To do away with complex, fragile retracts, the Balsa Basics Hurricane is a belly lander. With this tough model equipped with a magnetic pop-off radiator on the underside, even the roughest of fields can become flying fields.
