30" KK DOLPHIN
The KK Dolphin is a really classic design with unusual shaped fuselage, which actually adds to the lift produced by the model, making it an outstanding flyer. Features very simple, straightforward construction for the intermediate builder.

Our replica kit includes top quality laser-cut parts to aid accurate, speedy building. A perfect candidate for the new "36" class bungee launch competition. This kit is a laser-cut replica of the original KK Dolphin glider. Construction of the model from this kit uses the traditional method of "stick and tissue", that consists of a built up balsa wood skeleton (framework), covered with a tissue skin. The balsa frameworks are built over a plan that is printed at the exact scale of the model, which is in essence a real engineering drawing. Free flight means just that - once the model is launched, it is on its own. It must follow a predetermined flight path established when the model is initially adjusted for flight or "trimmed". This type of traditional building technique and flying requires a degree of patience and skill, but is extremely rewarding.

The kit was short of 2 lengths of 3/32" x 3/32" stringer and 1 length of 1/4" x 3/32" strip. How is it possible to for this to slip through packing checks? Since my late teens I've probably built around 60 free flying balsa wood aircraft so I'm pretty experienced in optimising the contents of kits to the extent that I often have spare lengths of material but this is the first time I've ever had insufficient material to complete a model. This would be acceptable if it was a n isolated instance for which Vintage models apologised but I haven't even had the courtesy of a response from them. VMC reply: Hello Michael, We're sorry but we did not receive a message from you regarding this kit. We make every effort to correct mistakes made in packing kits and to respond quickly to customers who need parts, whatever the reason. We will look through the Dolphin kits on the shelf to make sure that they contain the pieces you suggest and amend the pack list accordingly.
