How To Build It
Unlike many of our other more complicated kits, the Balsa Baron doesn't need to be built over a plan and can be constructed on a normal sized table with some basic tools. All you need is to follow this video along step-by-step.

What is the Balsa Basics Baron?
The Baron is designed for maximimum fun with minimal building time. It's an easy, intuitive, step-by-step process to build one of these fun planes and will only take you an afternoon.
In terms of flying, this model isn't to be frightened of. It's very locked in. If you've flown anything else before, this would be a great model to practice flying with ailerons with. It would make a great second model. We would recommend the Balsa Basics Cub over this one if you're completely green, simply because this aircraft is quite a lot faster and takes more involvement to fly.
The Balsa Basics Series is envisioned as a ‘next step’ for those wanting to venture into more traditional model aviation materials without intimidation. Balsa has a reputation for being hard to get into, complex and fragile. The Vintage Model Company has therefore teamed up with the Flite Test to bring you this new range of simple, robust and fun flyers made primarily of wood. The Baron is based on the Flite Test Bloody Baron which was originally desigend by Dan Sponholz. Our version is to take the baron to the next level; sturdy construction and quality materials will leave you with a resilient model that will bring you many years of enjoyment.
