The Blackburn Type D, sometimes known as the Blackburn Monoplane, was built in 1912. Restored shortly after the Second World War, it still flies today as part of the Shuttleworth Collection and is the oldest British flying aeroplane.

This model is a rework of the original Aerographics balsa wood kit of the Blackburn Monoplane. We've completely revamped the design, from the instructions to the cut parts, to provide you with a great building experience from start to finish.

Please note: this is not a model for a beginner and requires a fair amount of both patience and skill to complete.

Inside the box you will find all of the materials you will need to create a superbly detailed 21.5" flying model of the Blackburn Monoplane. Although designed for rubber power, a very experienced (and brave) aero-modeller could turn this into a lightweight R/C flyer.
