Scale Indoor National Championships 2013
22nd April 2013
I enjoyed a brief visit to the Scale Indoor National Championships at Nottingham University yesterday.
It seemed somewhat quieter than last year’s event, but there was the usual, extremely high standard of aero-modelling on display.
Some videos of the event appear below (please excuse the maladroit nature of the framing – I’m not used to these new-fangled ipods!).

KeilKraft Eaglet Revisited
28th March 2013
We were thrilled to bits to receive the following photos from Roy Garner recently.
He had an original KeilKraft Eaglet kit which had some parts missing and so ordered one of our laser cut short kits for replacements.
Roy has installed a micro-electric out-runner system guided by 3 channel micro rc – he claims 20 minutes flight duration outdoors on a calm day.
James May’s Toy Stories Balsa Glider – The Slingsby Swallow
30th December 2012
Did you see James May’s Toy Stories on the BBC over Christmas and marvel at their fabulous record breaking flight across the Bristol Channel to the island of Lundy?
Although the team had to upscale and redesign the wings on the glider, the kit on which it was based is now available from our online shop.
The West Wings Slingsby Swallow kit is perfect as a starter model and a great way to introduce a youngster to the excitement of building and flying their first glider.
You can fit simple 2 channel radio or keep the glider as a pure free flight model – either way if you build it correctly it will reward you with superb flight.
Love him or hate him, James May seemed genuinely moved by the experience of flying the glider and some of the filming over the sea was truly stunning.
I don’t know about you, but I’m itching to build one now!
Veron Tiger Moth Build Log
28th November 2012
I’ve just added a build log of my first ever balsa kit build to the rcgroups.com forum.
You can read it here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1778920
The kit I chose was one of our Replikit laser-cut replicas from the Tru-Flite range and although challenging, wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be.
If you’re looking for a last minute Christmas gift for the man who has everything, one of these could just fit the bill.
The Veron Truflite Tiger Moth is just £29.99 + postage for the full kit.
Skyleada Jetex Canberra in Free Flight
20th November 2012
While at the IPMS Scale ModelWorld show at Telford, we bumped into Nick Aiken – well known to you Jetex fans as a regular competitor at free flight events.
It seems he too was on a mission to see what the plastic modellers were up to and we met him quite by chance when talking to a stallholder about free flight designs and plans.
Nick promised to send us some pictures of our kits he’d built and flown in the past and here is one – the English Electric Canberra, originally kitted by Skyleada and designed for Jetex power.
